In 1975 Hans Schnekenburger along with four associates founded his first production facility for Black Forest ham in Villingen-Schwenningen. Only five years later the zest and outstanding products of this master butcher and business graduate led him and his team to entertain first thoughts of expansion.
The unstoppable upwards trend made it necessary in both 1982 and 1992 to open larger production halls and time after time create a basis for the further success of the Tannenhof brand. This proved to be a solid foundation as can be seen: With 70 employees in 1994 Tannenhof was the first producer of Black Forest hams to be certified to DIN ISO 9001 in all corporate functions.
The next generation.
The leadership of Tannenhof has been strengthened since 1992 and 1997 respectively by the addition of Markus and Claudia Schnekenburger. Together they enlarged the production facility in 1999 and 2002 to a total of 14,000 m2.
In 2015 the production facility was expanded by 12,000 m2 to a total of 32,000 m2. Tens of millions of euros were invested in the expansion, which was planned and implemented according to the latest ecological standards. The new floor space is now used to organise processes more efficiently within the business and to expand the existing capacity.
Today – just as 45 years ago – it is the dedication and quality awareness of the employees and the Schnekenburger family that make Tannenhof what it is: A strong brand based around a strong product as unique as the region from which it originates: the Black Forest ham.
